Brief Profile:

Dr. Shah Ubaid-ullah, Assistant Professor (Biotechnology), joined Govt Degree College, Pulwama on 1 Aug 2023. He served at Islamic College of Science & Commerce (ICSC), Srinagar from Feb 2021 to July 2023 and at GDC Baramulla from Aug 2017 to Jan 2021.  At Central University of Kashmir, he served as Assistant Professor (on contract) and Coordinator I/C, Department of Biotechnology. He has also served as Guest faculty at Department of Biotechnology, Jamia Millia Islamia for the sessions 2013-14 and 2014-15. Dr. Ubaid-ullah obtained his M.Sc. (Biotechnology) and Ph.D. from Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI), New Delhi Dr. Ubaid-ullah has to his credit all the major National level examinations like CSIRNET+JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF and GATE (BT). His doctoral work is on Molecular Biology & Biophysics while his post-doctoral work at National Institute of Immunology (NII) was focused on caseinolytic proteases (clp) and RNaseP of M. tuberculosis. His findings have been published in various peer-reviewed international journals like, Plos One, JBSD, IJ Biochem & Cell Bio, IJ Bio Macetc., He has also co-authored a book on ‘Basic Molecular Biology Techniques’. He has attended a number of national and international conferences and presented his work. His main focus of research areas are protein folding/stability, protein purification, clp proteases and ribonucleo-proteins and related problems. Dr. Ubaid is life member of prestigious societies like Indian Biophysical Society(IBS), Society of Biological Chemists, India (SBCI) and Indian Science Congress Association(ISCA) and founder member of Society of Biologists, J &K besides serving as editorial member of different journals.
