It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to this great seat of learning. Government Degree College Pulwama has a chequered history of 33 years to its credit. These 33 years are dabbed with many a success story and the achievements of the college speak volumes of its unfailing resolve to serve the society. The College has produced a host of alumni who have made this college proud. The college has well-established departments including science departments fully equipped with the state of art labs. The college has a capacious library with books of every kind including various journals and magazines. Apart from regular academic activities the college has IGNOU, Distance Education study centres which offer a much needed helping hand to those who otherwise cannot make it to colleges and universities regularly. Moreover, the college administration has an insightful and futuristic view with regard to the facilities for the students. A spacious and state of art auditorium is under construction in the premises of the college which shall be completed in a year or two. The College boosts of its eighty odd capable and efficient faculty members who, through their untiring efforts impart quality education to the students. Our college is second to none when it comes to the achievements and accolades on the competitions outside the college. Our pass-outs topped the entrance tests conducted for PG courses by Kashmir University, Central University, Islamic University of Science and Technology and Universities outside the state. The college has kept all kind of facilities available to its students viz the canteen facilities, the Gym facilities, etc. The college has a sprawling play field for its students for multiple games like cricket, volley ball, hockey, football etc. This Institution in its short history has reached many a good goalpost and shall scale dizzying heights. We are proud of our alumni who are in the farthest crannies of the world like Harvard, DU, JNU and who always remember this institution with the sense of pride. I would like to place on record my heartfelt gratitude to my staff members for their grit and hard work which shall go a long way in making this institution an abode of knowledge and erudition. I sincerely hope that this institution has a great role to play in securing the future of the society and shall always prove a fruitful intervention in the academic career of students.
